Navigating GLP-1s
Not a course. Not a video library. A live program.
Each week for 4 weeks, Dr. Eric Westman — one of the country’s leading obesity medicine physicians guides you through the early GLP-1 phase in real time. What to eat, what to expect, and how to protect your muscle and metabolism.
The medication changes your appetite. It doesn’t change what your body needs. [For users of Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound, and newer peptide treatments.]
.
Doctor-led. Evidence-based. Guided in real time.
You started a GLP-1 — now what
- Nausea, constipation, fatigue.
And no clear answer on what’s normal or how long it lasts.
- Your appetite crashes.
But your body’s need for protein doesn’t — and most people don’t realize the difference until damage is done.
- The scale drops.
Nobody mentions that muscle might be dropping with it.
- Conflicting advice everywhere.
No one you actually trust to ask.
- A prescription and a follow-up in three months.
That’s the entire support system most people get.
Here's what most people aren't told about GLP-1s
I’ve spent 30 years helping patients fix their metabolism through nutrition. That foundation doesn’t change because someone is on a medication.
What I see repeatedly in GLP-1 patients is this: appetite drops, protein intake falls, and muscle quietly disappears. The scale looks great. The damage goes unnoticed until later.
Eating less is not the same as eating right. On a GLP-1, that distinction is critical.
The medication changes your appetite. It doesn’t change what your body needs.
That’s exactly what this program is built to teach you.
Four weeks. Two live sessions per week. Real answers in real time
- Dr. Westman and Amy Berger, CNS. Live. Twice a week.
Monday sessions with Dr. Westman cover the clinical picture. Thursday sessions with Amy cover practical nutrition and real-life implementation.
- Your questions answered in real time.
Submit questions in advance and have them addressed live — no guessing, no waiting weeks for answers.
- Daily support inside your program portal.
Between live sessions, our team is in the forum every day so you’re never left waiting when a question comes up.
- Weekly lessons and resources delivered to your portal.
Each week builds on the last, giving you a clear structure to follow throughout the four weeks.
What You'll Learn
- Week 1: Starting Safely and Strategically
You’ll understand what’s normal in the early weeks, what deserves attention, and what to do about it. You’ll learn about GLP-1s vs emerging peptides what’s available now, what’s coming.
- Week 2: Protecting Muscle and Metabolism During Weight Loss
You’ll learn exactly how much protein your body needs when appetite is low, why eating less is not the same as eating right, and how to protect the muscle and metabolism that determine your long-term results.
- Week 3: Navigating Real Life on Weight Loss Medications
Travel, social situations, returning appetite, and plateaus — you’ll have a clear, practical plan for all of it so your progress doesn’t stall the moment life gets complicated.
- Week 4: Planning for the Long Term
You’ll finish the program knowing what maintenance looks like, how to evaluate what comes next, and how to build the nutritional habits that keep results in place — with or without medication.
Meet Dr. Westman
Hi, I’m Eric Westman, MD, MHS.
I’m an obesity medicine physician at Duke University, a former president of the Obesity Medicine Association, and the author of more than 90 peer-reviewed papers on metabolic health and nutrition.
With GLP-1 medications, I’ve seen how quickly appetite changes — and how easy it is for muscle, metabolism, and nutrition to go off track without the right nutritional foundation in place.
This program brings that foundation to you. Live, every week, with clear direction on what to eat and how to protect your health during the phase that matters most.
How do I know if I’m ready?
This program is for you if:
- You’ve recently started a GLP-1 medication or are about to, and want live guidance from Dr. Westman and his team.
- You want to protect muscle and metabolism while appetite changes.
- You want to understand what's happening in your body, not just watch the scale move.
- You’re looking for structured, evidence-based nutrition guidance instead of conflicting online advice.
- You’re ready to show up, ask questions, and apply what you learn each week.
This program is not for you if:
- You're looking for a passive, self-paced experience you can complete on your own schedule.
- You're not interested in nutrition as a foundation for your results.
- You prefer to wait and see how the medication goes without structured support.
- You're not open to live education and real-time guidance from a physician.
Here’s what you get when you enroll...
- Eight live sessions
4 with Dr. Westman, 4 with Amy Berger, CNS
- Weekly guidance emails
Short, actionable emails that reinforce the week’s lessons, normalize common experiences, and point you to what to focus on — without overwhelming your inbox.
- Private question and answer channel
Submit your questions privately and get them addressed on the live calls. Plus daily support inside your program portal — our team is in the forum every day so you’re never left waiting between sessions.
- Practical tools and resources
Access checklists and curated guidance to help you protect your muscle and metabolism, and stay confident while navigating GLP-1s.

Every week builds on the last. Observe your body, submit questions, attend live sessions, and apply actionable steps — so you feel supported and in control throughout the program.
What some of Dr.Westman's patients say...
Stacey R.
“I was two weeks into my GLP-1 and completely caught off guard. The nausea was relentless and I had no idea if what I was experiencing was normal or something to worry about. Dr. Westman gave me the context I desperately needed. For the first time I wasn’t Googling at midnight — I actually understood what was happening in my body and what to do about it.”

“I was losing weight quickly but something felt off. I was weaker, more tired, and my arms looked different. I didn’t connect it to muscle loss until Dr. Westman explained exactly what was happening and why protein intake was the missing piece. That one conversation changed everything about how I approached my medication.”

Michelle R.
“My appetite was almost completely gone and I had no idea what I was supposed to be eating. I was surviving on crackers and yogurt and calling it a win. Dr. Westman helped me understand that eating less and eating right are two completely different things. I finally had a plan that made sense.”
Mounjaro user, early phase
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
David L.
“I’ve followed Dr. Westman for years and his approach has always been grounded, honest, and evidence-based. When I started a GLP-1 medication I knew he was the person I wanted in my corner. His ability to explain complex things in plain language — without alarm and without hype — is unlike anything I’ve experienced with any other physician.”

“What surprised me most was how supported I felt between sessions. The Adapt Your Life team was in the forum every single day. No question went unanswered. No week felt like I was navigating this alone. That level of care is rare and it made a real difference to how I showed up each week.”

“I came in feeling overwhelmed and left feeling like I actually understood my body. The structure, the guidance, and the consistency of the program gave me something I hadn’t had since starting my health journey — clarity. Frequently Asked Questions...
Is this medical care?
No. This is a physician-led educational support program. It does not replace your prescribing clinician or constitute a patient-provider relationship.
Will you adjust my medication or dosing?
No. All medication decisions remain with your prescribing provider. This program focuses on nutrition, protecting muscle, navigating side effects, and building a long-term strategy.
Is this only for people who are struggling?
No. It’s designed for anyone in the early phase who wants to approach this thoughtfully, whether things feel manageable or not.
I just started a GLP-1. Is it too soon to join?
No. The early phase is exactly when structure matters most. Starting with clarity is far easier than course-correcting later.
I've already been on a GLP-1 for a few months. Is it too late?
Not at all. If you’re still within the first several months, the guidance is relevant. Many of the most important foundations can still be established.
What if I miss a live session?
All sessions are recorded and available for you inside the program so you can watch at your convenience.
Is this a self-paced course?
No. The curriculum is taught live and in real time across 4 weeks. Recordings are available for replay, but this is not a passive, on-demand course.
What happens after the 4 weeks?
The program has a clear end point. Options for continued support will be shared with participants at the close of the program.
The early phase shapes what happens next
Starting a GLP-1 is a decision. Using it well requires structure.
4 weeks of focused, live guidance with Dr. Westman and Amy Berger, CNS — so you know exactly what to eat, how to protect your muscle, and what to expect during the phase that sets the pattern for everything that follows.
Ready to stop navigating this alone?
Enrollment opens June 18. The program begins June 25.
