Who is Dr. Eric Westman?
Dr. Westman is an internationally sought after authority and educator on the science and practical applications of low-carb and ketogenic diets. For over 25 years, his clinic at Duke University has been the destination for physicians and patients alike, wanting to understand and implement the low-carb ketogenic diet to treat chronic illness safely and effectively. He is known for his research, having spearheaded some of the first clinical trials in the U.S. on low-carb eating. He is an internal medicine physician and board-certified in obesity medicine. He is a past president of the Obesity Medicine Association, a New York Times best-selling author, and the clinical director of Adapt Your Life Academy.
Is Keto Made Simple for beginners only?
No! It’s the perfect fit for anyone who is just getting started with their weight loss and health efforts, but it will also be helpful for more experienced keto followers who need a “reset” to return to the basics, or who have not yet experienced the beneficial effects they were expecting. Keto Made Simple provides a solid, scientific approach to keto that will yield you better results than you may have gotten through following unproven methods in the past. The clinically-proven approach you will learn will give you forward momentum and leave you feeling confident that you’ll be successful with keto going forward.
Can I take the course if I have a medical condition or take medication?
Yes. However, as with any new diet, if you have a medical condition or you take medications, we recommend that you consult with your doctor first, particularly if you take medication for type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure. Changing the way you eat can be even more powerful than medication, so as you get healthier, your medication may become too strong and adjustments will need to be made under your doctor’s supervision. (The course includes a guide to finding keto-savvy medical professionals who are experienced with reducing and stopping medications.)
How much is the Keto Made Simple course?
The course is just $197 – an incredible value for the expert teaching, resources, and community support you’ll receive. What is the length of the course?
The program consists of three key components designed to provide comprehensive guidance and support. First, you’ll have access to self-paced video lessons with Dr. Eric Westman, allowing you to progress through the content and accompanying written guides at your own speed. Second, the program includes six live Zoom sessions for course recaps and Q&A, with replays available if you can’t attend live. Finally, you’ll receive three full weeks of support, either through a private Facebook group exclusively for Keto Made Simple students or via email if you’re not on Facebook. Throughout the program, Dr. Westman, Amy Berger, and the Adapt team will be available to answer your questions, celebrate your progress, and help you troubleshoot challenges, whether you’re brand new to keto or looking to refocus using Dr. Westman’s “prescription-strength keto” approach.
What if I don’t use Facebook? Can I still take the course?
Yes. The course itself is not on Facebook. The course is housed in a private, password-protected portal that you will have lifetime access to. The live Q&A sessions take place via Zoom at 8 pm ET. (All live sessions are recorded and the replays will be available for you to watch inside your student portal.) The Facebook group is an optional support group for those who do better with community interaction. It is not mandatory to join the Facebook group, but we highly recommend it in order to get the full intended experience and the added benefits of support and community.
What if I can’t attend the live sessions?
No problem! All live sessions will be recorded and the replays will be added to your course portal the very next day. (We will also send them to you via email.) If you have questions but can’t attend a live session, you can ask questions in the private Facebook group or submit your questions via email if you opt not to participate in the Facebook group.
How long will I have access to my course?
Great news – you will have lifetime access to all your course materials! All the written content in your course resource library is yours to keep permanently. You can download and save it on your computer or device, and print them out if you prefer to have printed copies to refer to. You cannot download the video lessons or replays of live sessions, but you can log in to your course portal and watch them as many times as you like, even long after the course ends. (Full transcripts of all video lessons are provided as well.)
